Texas ranks #1 in business climate

Texas Tops When it Comes to Business Climate

Texas ranks as the state with the best business climate for companies looking to relocate or expand, According to Business Facilities, a site selection trade publication.

Texas finished at the top of its 19th annual ranking, with North Carolina, Virginia, Utah and Tennessee rounding out the first five. Its ranking examined more than 60 factors.

In 2022, the publication said Texas attracted more than 1,000 projects, representing $44.75 billion in capital investment and creating more than 35,000 jobs. Foreign investment accounted for $16.3 billion of the total.

In the last year, Dallas-Fort Worth has gained a variety of corporate headquarters — from heavy equipment giant Caterpillar Inc. to manufacturer ATI Inc.

Texas also scored well for its diversity of industries, infrastructure and “business-friendly regulatory and tax climate.

Site Selection magazine said Texas led the nation in new corporate facilities last year — the 11th year in a row the Lone Star State headed the list.
