Texas State Spending $137M for New STEM Building

Texas State University officials have started construction on a new $137 million STEM building.
The eight-story, 168,000-square-foot building will house the mathematics and computer science departments. PGAL and Ayers Saint Gross are the architects of the project in San Marcos.

The classrooms will be equipped with modern technology to support “interactive and engaging learning experiences.” The new facility will also help support undergraduate and graduate student research.
The STEM building will have lab space for research and classrooms as well as departmental offices.

The building is expected to be operational by fall 2026.

Since its establishment in 1899, Texas State has grown to be one of the largest universities in the United States. In 2023, Texas State University reached a record enrollment of 38,873 students.
