TSU building 5-star hotel on campus

Texas State Eyeing 5-Star Campus Hotel

A new five-star hotel is on the way to the Texas State University in San Marcos. At a recent university event, Community Impact reports a school spokesman said the school is working with developer Midway, who could break ground as early as 2025. The hotel will be built directly across the street from Aspire San Marcos, a student housing project at 101 Concho St.

The school said it is also looking to provide an “elevated, first-class” dining experience in the hotel with a high-end restaurant, rooftop bar and lounge. The hotel will also have a ground-level coffee bar and event lawn. The university also has plans to create a hospitality management program for student internships, with classes held there over time.

Midway’s portfolio of projects completed and/or underway consists of approximately 45 million square feet of properties ranging from mixed-used destinations, office, and institutional and master-planned residential communities.
