- Matthew Seliger has joined Avison Young as Principal and Market Leader for its Houston office. In this role, Seliger will lead the market’s strategic growth initiatives, expanding the firm’s capabilities across brokerage, property management, project management, and valuation services while recruiting top industry talent to support continued growth. A seasoned commercial real estate leader, Seliger brings extensive experience in agency leasing, tenant representation, strategic lease negotiations, and asset positioning.
- JLL Capital Markets has secured the financing of Cornerstone Plaza, a fully leased retail center located in Southlake, Texas. JLL represented the borrower, Brownlee Waggoner Holdings. The lender was Hillcrest Bank. The retail center was originally built in 2002 and comprises 51,664 square feet of net rentable area across two buildings situated on 5.9 acres with 273 parking spaces. The property is 100% leased to eight tenants and features a 9.7-year weighted average lease term.
- Holt Lunsford Commercial Investments (HLCI) acquired a 26.5-acre site in North Fort Worth, Texas, for the development of Meacham 820 Crossing, a two-building Class-A industrial park totaling about 238,000 square feet. Building 1 will total approximately 105,000 square feet, and Building 2 will total approximately 133,000 square feet. Construction is expected to begin in Q4 2026, with delivery targeted for Q4 2027.
- Houston-based SparrowHawk added two executives to its senior leadership team. Scott Brast has joined the firm as Senior Vice President of Investments and Capital Markets, and Peter Wismer has been named Senior Vice President of Finance and Financial Reporting. Earlier this year, the firm secured a strategic partnership with Almanac Realty Investors, providing up to $300 million of growth capital to support acquisitions, portfolio expansion, and platform growth.
