Texas’ First Hyatt Centric to Debut in Austin
Austin’s first, and long awaited Hyatt Centric hotel is slated to open Feb. 1, 2023. The property marks the brands entry into the Texas market. Construction began in 2019 on the 31-story downtown hotel at Congress Avenue and Eighth Street but was stymied half way through by issues relating to the COVID pandemic and having to change major contractors.
The Hyatt Centric Congress Avenue Austin will offer 246 guest rooms and 3,000 square feet of meeting space. The Hyatt Centric plans to offer a 1,400 square-foot presidential suite that will be available as private event space.
The hotel will house multiple food concepts, including a restaurant from chef Steve McHugh. In addition to a second-floor bar, and an eighth-floor outdoor lounge and bar the hotel will have a 24-hour fitness center.
Hyatt Centric hotels are full-service lifestyle properties located in prime destinations.
