Texas A&M Expands DC Presence

Texas A&M University is expanding its presence in downtown Washington, DC, by signing a long-term lease for additional space at 1620 L St. NW.

The university’s office, which currently spans 47,418 square feet, will be expanded to over 70,000 square feet. Texas A&M has been located in the building since 2020 and uses it as an outpost for the Bush School of Government and Public Service. The DC office features classrooms, conference space, study lounges, an admissions center, and a theater and lecture hall.

The building is now 95% leased and features facilities, including a lobby, elevator cabs, common corridors, an outdoor terrace with a kitchen, a gym, and a tenant-only conference facility. Newmark’s Doug Damron and Chris Lucey represented the tenant while JLL’s Nathan Beach represented the landlord.
