Tesla to Build Fourth Austin Showroom
Tesla is adding a fourth showroom in northeast Austin. A public filing revealed that the EV car company is planning a new dealership in a renovated flex-industrial building at 2323 Ridgepoint Drive. The building owner expects to spend $1.5 million on the improvements for the 52,000 square foot showroom.
Nearly a year ago the third showroom opened at 500 E. St. Elmo Rd on the south side of town. Tesla budgeted $2.5 million for the project to convert a structure at 500 E. St. Elmo Rd. into a nearly 30,000-square-foot showroom.
Tesla already operates showrooms at the Domain in North Austin and at Pond Springs Road and Research Boulevard in Northwest Austin.
The company shows no signs of tamping the brakes regarding its fondness for Austin. Tesla has plans to expand the Gigafactory Texas’ infrastructure, adding a massive new building. Tesla has filed a permit with the City of Austin for a new 500,000-square-foot building.
