Tesla to absorb 1.4M SF of Kyle business park

Tesla Gobbles Up More Texas Industrial Space

Tesla is spreading the wealth around Texas. This time, it’s Kyle in Hays County. The company has leased three buildings, adding up to 1.4 million square feet, at a Kyle logistics park for warehouse storage and light assembly. Houston-based Alliance Industrial Co is developing the facility.

The Austin Business Journal reports the facility, Kyle 35/Logistics Park, would presumably support Tesla’s gigafactory in eastern Travis County, which already has at least 12,000 employees. The factory is about 35 miles away from the business park.

Tesla now ranks as the largest manufacturer in the Austin area, by both square footage and headcount. Among the largest private-sector employers in Central Texas, the 12,000-plus people Tesla employs is bested only by grocer H-E-B, hospital giant Ascension Texas and computer titan Dell.
