Tenant Plans to Convert Space to Training and Overhaul Facility
An undisclosed aerospace manufacturing and maintenance company recently leased 72,172 square feet at two industrial spaces adjacent to the Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport. Located at 6341 S. Downwind Circle and 7852 E. Velocity Way, the properties feature 28-foot clear height with ample parking, loading and heavy power.
Jackie Orcutt, Kevin Cosca and Pete Wentis of CBRE represented the landlord, Skybridge Arizona. CBRE’s Alex Wentis, Pete Wentis and Cosca represented the unnamed tenant. The tenant will use the space for an aviation training and overhaul facility.
“Between both spaces, we satisfied the tenant’s needs as well as a hangar that offers direct ramp and taxiway access,” said Wentis. “This tenant valued the local Mesa workforce training, amenities and three runways totaling more than 10,000 feet. Locating at Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport was critical.”
Earlier this year, SkyBridge opened the 82,000-square-foot multi-tenant hangar adjacent to Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport. Phase I, which will include more than 455,000 square feet in two manufacturing buildings and a 115,000-square-foot maintenance and repair hangar, will break ground in fourth quarter 2021.
“This was a win-win for the tenant, who needed runway access as well as a separate manufacturing facility, and for Skybridge, as they secured a long-term credit tenant,” adds Cosca.
