Temple Okays Just Under $16M in Incentives for Data Center Builder

Rowan Digital secured financial incentives estimated at $15.8 million for a potential $1.2 billion hyperscale data center campus spanning over 700 acres in Temple, Texas.

The Austin Business Journal reports the company received final approval last month to annex and zone the land at 1707 and 2351 Bob White Road. The Council also OK’d 554 acres as a tax reinvestment zone, which cleared the way for the incentives.

The incentives agreement with Rowan Temple LLC requires the company to invest at least $700 million in the project and create 40 full-time jobs with an average salary of $80,000. The city will provide a 10-year, 50% abatement on the increase in real and personal property improvements on the site in return.

The project is scheduled to break ground by the end of 2025, with completion anticipated next fall. Construction is estimated to create more than 700 jobs.
