330-room Omni Tempe and ASU to start accepting guests

Tempe’s Largest, Newest Hotel Accepting Guests

Tempe’s largest hotel opened its door over the weekend. The 330-room Omni Tempe Hotel at Arizona State University is now accepting guests. The hotel will include 11 suites and 36,000 square feet of meeting space. The project cost $125 million to build .

While the hotel is owned by Omni Hotels & Resorts, it was built next to Arizona State University on land owned by the Arizona Board of Regents. The university will likely be the hotels biggest customer, filling conference rooms and hotel rooms for various athletic and academic events.

The ground-floor ballroom is called the Sun Devil Ballroom and outside of it there are display cases that ASU will fill and rotate with school-related artifacts and memorabilia. The Phoenix Business Journal reports the massive boardroom at the Omni is directly wired into ASU’s computer system, making it easier for school leaders to hold meetings at the hotel.
