Tempe Adding to Breathtaking Phoenix-Area Apartment Growth
In separate actions, the Tempe City Council approved a resolution for The Marshall at Tempe and an ordinance for Skye Tempe. The Phoenix Business Journal reports the two mixed-use developments will bring on 189 and 281 units, respectively. The Skye Tempe will also have 6,650 square feet of commercial space on site for a retail “market”. The Marshall will include a 72-key Sleep Inn & Suites.
The Council is also expected to approve the following projects at its Sept. 28 meeting. Collectively these projects would bring on another 1,086 units:
- Apache Square, a five-story project at 1747 E. Apache Blvd with 167 planned units
- 211 E. 7th Street, a 28-story project at 211 E. 7th Street with 380 planned units
- 955 East Mixed Use, an 18-story project at 955 E. University Drive with 539 planned units
In the past week, the Phoenix City Council okayed developments plans for nearly 1,900 apartment units in midtown and will soon be voting on another 1,450 units along with a hotel and office.
