Tech-Savvy Retailers Will Do “Very, Very Well”

“All of the retailers that are embracing technology are going to do very, very well.” That’s InvenTrust Properties CEO Thomas McGuinness (pictured) on what it takes for brick-and-mortar operators to succeed in the current environment.

Part and parcel of tech savviness as far as retailers are concerned is operating skillfully in an omnichannel environment. Among other attributes, that calls for “innovation and a willingness to experiment,” said Melina Cordero, global head of retail research at CBRE.

Cordero, along with Brandon Famous, chairman of the global retail occupier committee at CBRE, joined McGuinness and Faris Lee Investments CEO Richard Chichester in front of Connect Media’s cameras. In the video above, you’ll also hear from all four retail experts on the implications of consumer spending habits as wage growth ticks upward.
