TCC to Develop 757K-SF Lab Complex at Johns Hopkins, Belward Campus

Trammell Crow Company has unveiled plans to develop The Labs at Belward, a life science complex located at the Belward Campus of The Johns Hopkins University. The project is part of Montgomery County, MD’s “2010 Great Seneca Science Corridor Master Plan” to create a live/work community that supports the life science industry.

The Labs at Belward will sit on 20.62 acres ground-leased from the university for 99 years. The complex will initially include 757,000 square feet of lab and research and discovery space across three buildings, with potential to grow to approximately 1.6 million square feet across seven buildings.

Construction will begin June 2023 with completion 2025.

Gensler is acting as the architect for the project, while the Clark Construction Group is serving as the general contractor. Other partners include Soltesz, Inc. (civil), Lerch Early Brewer (land use), James Posey Associates, Inc (MEP), Thornton Tomasetti (structural) and OJB (landscape architecture).

About Lisa McDuffie

Lisa McDuffie arrives at ConnectCRE via REALTOR® world, where she served for nearly two decades as communications director for one of the nation’s largest REALTOR® organizations. She supported two membership-elected presidents who were commercial real estate practitioners, and managed the communications initiatives of the organization’s commercial special interest group. When not following the latest commercial real estate news, Lisa is zeroed in on her charismatic off-the-track thoroughbred as she makes the transition from an utterly failed racehorse to a lovely show hunter.
