Tax Company Avalara to Downsize Seattle Office Footprint with Relocation

Tax software company Avalara Inc. will downsize from its current offices in Seattle’s Pioneer Square to a much smaller space downtown months after shifting its headquarters to the East Coast.

The company recently signed a deal to occupy 33,754 square feet in the 211,640-square-foot historic Maritime Building at 911 Western Ave., reported the Puget Sound Business Journal. The company had been headquartered in Slalom Hawk Tower at 255 S. King St., where it leases 152,401 square feet. 

The company is subleasing the fifth floor of the Maritime Building from Seattle-based Big Fish Games. Avalara offers sales tax automation, exemption certificate management, e-commerce integrations, compliance, and return filing services.
