Taser Maker to Build $85M Scottsdale HQ

A law enforcement technology company (think Tasers) bought a choice parcel of land in Scottsdale three years ago, and has been quietly making plans to do something on it. Now, Axon Enterprise has submitted plans to the city for a new corporate headquarters, 2,000 multifamily residential units, and a 100-room hotel and retail. The Phoenix Business Journal reports the headquarters alone is slated to cost $85 million.

In total, Axon is proposing a more than 400,000-square-foot office building that would house its corporate headquarters, with the first phase of the project on nearly 27 acres. Axon purchased the 74 acres of the north Scottsdale land in September 2020 at an Arizona State Land Department auction for $49.1 million.

Axon’s current headquarters is just to the southeast of the 74-acre site at 17800 N. 85th Street in Scottsdale. Axon has 1,200 Arizona employees.
