Target to Add Austin-Area Store

Target Corp. plans to open a new store at a 75-acre retail development in Bastrop. The store, slated to go in at State Highway 71 and Farm to Market Road 969, is about 35 miles east of Austin. The retail center, Sendero (shown), could feature 250,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, 782 apartments, a hotel and over 100,000 square feet of medical and wellness office space once complete.

The Austin Business Journal reports that Bastrop is considering an economic incentive package for Pearl River Cos., the developer of Sendero.

Target has added locations in Liberty Hill and Dripping Springs, besides the store under consideration in Bastrop. Bastrop, and Bastrop County have about 119,000 citizens.

Sendero’s tenants include Chuy’s, Westlake Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery, Jersey Mike’s, Einstein Bros. Bagels, Texas Roadhouse, Scooter’s Coffee and a dual-branded Marriott hotel.
