Target Coming to the Hamptons, Backfilling Former Kmart

Target has signed a lease for a new space in the popular Bridgehampton Commons shopping center in the Hamptons community of Bridgehampton, NY. The 89,935-square-foot store will be Target’s first location in Bridgehampton and is expected to open in 2026. The retailer already operates 20 stores on Long Island.

Located at 2044 Montauk Hwy., the store will backfill what reportedly was the last full-sized Kmart in the continental U.S. Jeff Howard, vice chairman of RIPCO Real Estate, represented Target in the deal.

Owned by Kimco Realty Corp., the 287,493-square-foot Bridgehampton Commons is also home to King Kullen, Gap, TJMaxx, Staples and Ulta Beauty.
