Tampa Developer Proposing 1,150 Affordable Units as Part of PPP
PMG Affordable has been selected by the city of Tampa to transform an underutilized space into affordable housing and commercial space. The properties in the RFP, owned by the City of Tampa and the Community Redevelopment Agency, include the old Army Navy Surplus Market store and Royal lot.
Besides PMG, the public/private partnership includes the Tampa Housing Authority, Bank of America Community Development Company, LLC, and DuCon, LLC.
While the RFP required a minimum of 800 dwelling units, PMG proposed 30% more, with a total of 1,150 residential units — 70% committed to affordable and workforce housing.
Directly beside these properties is the Ashley Drive on-ramp to I-275, which, if approved, would be redesigned to drastically improve connectivity and pedestrian safety between the new development and surrounding neighborhoods.
PMG Affordable currently has over 4,500 housing units in its development pipeline.
