Sysco to open $102M E. Phoenix distribution center

Sysco Expanding Arizona Presence with $102M Warehouse

It’s hard to believe Sysco Corp. can expand any further. Their hot dogs are served at most pro ball parks, their pre-packaged food items are offered up in 1000’s of schools and hospitals and their trucks seem to dominate the slow lanes on most freeways. They’ve topped $60 billion in sales. Apparently, they are still growing. Sysco is stretching its reach into the East Valley to keep up with Arizona’s population growth.

They just opened up a new 353,000-square-foot space in southeast Mesa, calling the distribution center Sysco Arizona East.

It’s expected to be operational in the new space by the spring of 2025. Upon opening, Sysco will have about 260 working at Sysco Arizona East. The expansion move is expected to cost $100 million.

Sysco (NYSE: SYY) has been in the West Valley for decades, operating a facility in Tolleson. That space employs more than 450 people and stretches over 500,000 square feet after an expansion over the last decade.
