Sunflower Beach Taps into Vacation Demand
Port Aransas became one of the more popular destinations last year as pandemic-era vacationers flocked to the Texas Coast in search of driving-distance escapes. Now developers can’t build homes fast enough to keep up with the demand.
Sunflower Beach, a beachside resort concept, has tapped into that demand by bringing a design concept that appeals to second home out-of-towners, many from San Antonio, Austin and Houston. Its latest project, The Pool Residences, is designed by Jay Corder who is originally from Port Aransas.
The 21-unit pool residences condo building recently broke ground and its sales program is already more than 80 percent under contract for building one. Two more buildings are closely behind, with construction beginning in spring 2021. Prices start in the high $300s.
The developer is Sunflower Beach Development Ltd. and project consultants include interior design by Butterlutz Designs, builder Broaddus Construction, and project marketing and consulting by the Brandon Miller Group.
