Sugar Land’s Lake Pointe Green Plan Okayed by Town
The City of Sugar Land Planning and Zoning Commission voted to recommend that the City Council approve the Lake Pointe Green redevelopment concept plan, a largely residential plan that includes up to 720 multifamily units and an area for civic and recreational space, an option for limited temporary commercial use.
The project is going forward at the former Fluor campus. Lovett Group, the developer, has contracted services with Grant Mackay Company, Inc. for demolition of 1 million square feet of buildings within the former Fluor Corporation campus.
Demolition is expected to be completed in phases through Summer 2026, beginning with demolition of Building A, which started late September.
Under the concept as presented, roughly 10 to 15 acres are identified for multifamily or townhome-style urban homes. The developer is expected to submit a preliminary plat for one or more sections of the project, followed by final plats.
