Fluor plant to be repurposed

Sugar Land Approves Plans for Former Fluor Campus

Sugar Land’s City Council approved a concept plan for Lake Pointe Green–a 53-acre redevelopment plan for the former Fluor Corporation campus, allowing hundreds of multifamily units. The City also approved a $7 million incentive to support new park land, civic spaces and an expansion of the Brooks Lake Trail—funded through sales tax revenue set aside specifically for projects that enhance public amenities.

In addition, the City will reimburse up to $5.3 million for demolition and environmental remediation—removing key barriers to redevelopment—and up to $12 million for public infrastructure.

These approvals enable Lovett Group to move forward with plans for Lake Pointe Green. The development is set to feature a mix of high-end residential options, including detached homes, townhomes and roughly 720 multifamily units. Commercial space is an option if the market merits it. Construction could start as early as the end of 2025.

Lovett has overseen mixed-use redevelopments including POST Houston and the Polk District since 1980.
