Subtext Celebrates Grand Opening of Ann Arbor Student Housing Property

Subtext has opened VERVE Ann Arbor, a new 12-story, 741-bed student housing development near the University of Michigan.

Located at 721 South Forest Street, the 328,264-square-foot project includes 217 units ranging from studios to six-bedroom layouts. Marking a first-of-its-kind integration for Subtext, VERVE Ann Arbor features a ground-level, full-service lobby coffee shop operated by Misfit Society Coffee Club.

VERVE Ann Arbor was developed in partnership with FrontRange Capital and Kayne Anderson Real Estate. Webster Bank served as the lender. WDG Architecture led the architecture, and ESG Architecture & Design led the interiors. Brinkmann Constructors led the general contracting. VERVE Ann Arbor is Subtext’s third development in Ann Arbor.

The property includes a rooftop with a pool deck, hot tub, outdoor kitchen with grilling stations, poolside jumbotron, yard games, lounge areas and a clubroom. “VERVE represents the culmination of that experience—a next-level development that redefines what student housing can be, ” said Brandt Stiles, Founding Partner, Subtext.
