Stylish AC Hotel Opens in the Gaslamp District

AC Hotels has broken into the San Diego market, opening its first property in the region in the Downtown Gaslamp Quarter. From Marriott International and Briad Hospitality, the eight-story, 147 room hotel offers a fitness center, signature AC Kitchen and AC Lounge.

Hotel Business reports the AC Hotel will also offer Techo Beso, a rooftop bar and restaurant inspired by the energy and culture of love found in Tulum, Mexico. Located at the Gaslamp Galleria Building on Sixth Avenue, the property sits in a vibrant area known for its nightlife and dining, and is just a short walk to PETCO Park.

Briad Construction Services has revamped the historic facade on the 69,000-square-foot building, which had fallen into disrepair. According to Marriott, AC Hotels are meant to offer a creative and hip take on hospitality, with rooms that feature luxury bedding and spacious workstations. Other amenities include a rooftop pool and a conference center.
