Structured Development Breaks Ground on First Two Big Deahl Resi Buildings
Structured Development joined representatives from the Chicago Community Land Trust (CCLT) and co-living provider Common at a groundbreaking ceremony for the first two residential buildings at The Shops at Big Deahl, a mixed-use, mixed-income development in Lincoln Park.
The structures are part of a three-building, 487-unit residential community centered around a new public park on the site, adjacent to where the Cabrini-Green housing project once stood.
Scheduled for completion in December 2022, The Seng is a four-story, 34-unit affordable condo building whose income-restricted buyers will be selected by CCLT. Common Lincoln Park, scheduled for delivery in March 2023, is a 10-story, 400-bed co-living community, reportedly the first of its kind in Lincoln Park, that will be operated by New York-based Common.
“Big Deahl brings true economic diversity to the neighborhood, offering a dynamic mix of affordable for-sale housing and market-rate rentals,” said Mike Drew, founding principal of Structured Development.
