Stratus Surfaces Commits for Eight Years in Kent

Stratus Surfaces recently signed an eight-year lease at First Park North Kent. The 61,999-square-foot industrial property is located at 19014 64th Ave. South in Kent with access to the West Valley Highway.

Stratus Surfaces is a wholesale importer and distributor of natural and manufactured stone. Since opening last year, the company has been on a rapid growth path with flagship locations in Seattle and Austin. Now, co-CEOs Peter Pental and Luke Spiller are expanding further, adding offices in Kent and Oklahoma City.

The Kent location will include a showroom of natural stone slabs, quartz, porcelain and surfaces to be used in kitchens and bathrooms as well as fireplaces and custom outdoor spaces.

Kidder Mathews’ Matt McLennan represented the company in the transaction.

“Despite being in the market only a few years, Stratus Surface’s presence and foothold is already being felt,” McLennan says. “This new location is just the beginning.”

The 50,000- to 100,000-square-foot segment of the market has several choices for tenants, “a rare change from historical trends,” but it is still a landlord’s market, according to McLennan. However, he says he was able to create competition which allowed a better-than-market deal for Stratus Surfaces.
