Strada & Trammell Crow Plan Floating Pool on SF Waterfront
For those who would like to jump into the San Francisco Bay but worry about sharks, pollution or the cold temperatures, Strada Investment Group and Trammell Crow Company may have a solution. The two companies are proposing a state-of-the-art, floating swimming pool along the San Francisco waterfront at piers 30-32.
The pool would offer views of the Bay Bridge, the San Francisco Skyline and Oracle Park and rival other landmark pools like the highest infinity pool in Dubai or London’s floating pool. The proposal also includes 57,000 square feet of retail and recreation space on two levels and an area to launch kayaks.
According to KTVU, the development group put together the plan citing a lack of large, publicly-accessible swimming pools in the Bay Area. Some activities swimmers could expect at the floating pool include water polo, synchronized swimming and swim lessons. The next planning session is slated for January.
