Steelcase Leases 618K-SF Valwood Crossroads

Steelcase Inc. leased two industrial buildings totaling 617,920 square feet at Valwood Crossroads in suburban Dallas. The furniture manufacturer and distributor will set up shop at 1050 and 1150 Luna Rd. in Carrollton, TX, with plans to hire approximately 400 seasonal employees in 2019.

NAI Robert Lynn’s Mark Miller and Dave Peterson partnered with Arie Saloman from NAI Puget Sound to arrange the transaction on behalf of the seller and developer, Core 5 Industrial Partners. Steelcase is expected to occupy the space in the summer, and will use it for manufacturing and distribution purposes.

The tenant’s space needs came from its recent acquisition of Smith System Manufacturing Co. in Plano, TX. “The location, along with the building’s features, was the perfect choice as we made this acquisition,” said Steelcase’s Allan Smith.
