State Street Renews, Expands Burlington Offices

Financial services firm State Street has renewed and expanded its offices at National Development’s The District Burlington, located at 700 District Ave. in Burlington, MA. The agreement includes the renewal of 147,000 square feet with a 15,000-square-foot expansion, totaling 162,000 square feet, and extends the lease through May 31, 2037. The deal is reportedly among the largest office leases signed in Massachusetts in 2025.

State Street joins a growing list of tenants deepening their commitment to The District. Earlier this year, National Development announced lease renewals totaling more than 130,000 square feet from COMSOL, Black Duck Software, and Regus.

“We’re proud that State Street is continuing to grow here, leveraging The District’s dynamic environment to support its evolving workforce and strategic workplace plan,” said Maura Moffatt, director of asset management of National Development.

No brokers were identified in the leasing announcement. Cushman & Wakefield’s Michael O’Leary oversees leasing at The District.
