Starwood Retail Adds Corno to Lead Development

Retail and construction veteran Vincent Corno (pictured) has joined Chicago-based Starwood Retail Partners as SVP of development. Working closely with parent company Starwood Capital Group, Corno will create individualized strategies for the 30 properties Starwood Retail manages, with a view toward recreating them into mixed-use complexes.

“Vince Corno is one of the most experienced and best-known retail development executives in the business, and a true leader in our industry,” said Starwood Retail CEO Michael Glimcher. Glimcher cited Corno’s “extensive experience in development and deep relationships with retailers, as well as his commitment to integrate all aspects of the property management and development process into a cohesive team.”

Before joining Starwood Retail, Corno was EVP, Midwest of Brixmor Property Group, and before that was EVP of leasing and development for DDR Corp. He has also held senior roles with Dick’s Sporting Goods, Saks Incorporated, Forest City Enterprises and May Department Stores.
