Starwood Hotels In Buyout Talks
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, the owner of several major hotels in the San Diego area, including the Westin San Diego and the W San Diego, among other major California cities and others throughout the nation, is reportedly about to be acquired. Three Chinese firms are vying for the right from China’s government to purchase Starwood, which operates about 1,200 properties.
At the same time, Hyatt Hotels is also reportedly in talks to purchase Starwood, and would retain management of its properties if that deal goes through.
