Starbucks Roastery Coming to Chicago’s Magnificent Mile

Starbucks Coffee Company plans to open a Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Chicago in 2019. Located on North Michigan Avenue and Erie Street on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile, the flagship location represents the company’s third, and largest, Roastery location in the U.S. following Seattle, which opened in December 2014, and New York City, slated to open in 2018.

The four-story, 43,000-square-foot Chicago Roastery will be a fully sensorial coffee environment, dedicated to roasting, brewing and packaging rare, small-batch Starbucks Reserve coffees from around the world, as well as artisan breads from Italian baker Rocco Princi. Tailored to the Chicago customer, the interactive emporium brings coffee craft to life by offering multiple brewing methods, specialty Reserve beverages and mixology.

The company plans to open 20 to 30 Roastery locations globally. Roastery experiences are slated to open in Shanghai later this year, as well as Milan and Tokyo in 2018.
