Starbucks Brews Up Better Employee Benefits
Starbucks recently announced new benefits for its employees, including a 5%-10% raise, a more relaxed dress code, tuition reimbursed for those pursuing a bachelor’s degree, and six weeks paid maternity and paternity leave for all baristas who work a minimum of 20 hours per week.
The coffee giant extended paid leave to 100% of employees’ annual salary, instead of the previous 67% coverage. Additionally, these perks cover mothers, fathers, same sex couples and adoptive parents. Changes go into effect on October 1 of this year.
In the United States, Starbucks employs roughly 160,000 workers.
