Staples Laying Off . . . Again

Staples Inc. announced it would be trimming more than 200 jobs. The cuts include dozens of employees at the company’s headquarters in Framingham, MA. The layoffs began Feb. 1, one year, to the day, after Staples eliminated hundreds of jobs in an earlier round of cuts.

“We are strategically restructuring our organization in order to support the needs of our customers and align with our business priorities,” the company said, in a statement. “As a matter of policy, we do not discuss staffing figures.” According to the Staples website, the company currently employs 79,000.
