Stanley Black & Decker Bringing Manufacturing to Mission
Stanley Black & Decker signed a lease on a nearly 300,000-square-foot facility in Mission, TX. The facility, which will reportedly begin operations in early 2018 to manufacture DeWalt power tools, is anticipated to eventually bring approximately 450 new jobs to the region. The $25 million facility will be the tool company’s third manufacturing plant in Texas.
According to Mission Mayor Norberto Salinas, the Mission Economic Development Corp. had been working with Stanley Black & Decker for several months on the deal. “It’s a great day for Mission, and a great day for the Rio Grande Valley, when a company of this caliber decides to invest in our region,” the mayor said. “These are exactly the types of jobs that we want to attract to our city.”
