Stages Repertory Unveils $31M Theater Complex
Live theater company Stages Repertory Theatre unveiled plans to develop a $30.5 million complex in Houston’s Montrose submarket. The company said it wants the 66,850-acre proposed building to provide an entertainment amenity for those who don’t want to travel to Houston’s Theater District downtown.
The new building is designed by Gensler, and will include three stages and a two-story parking garage. The theater company plans to reclaim an unused art warehouse on the site, and will build two main theaters adjacent to that structure.
Stages Repertory, currently at 3201 Allen Pkwy., acquired a lot at nearby at 800 Rosine St. in May 2016. The company has raised the full amount for the new building, thanks to a generous donation from Glenda and Russell Gordy.
