St. Thomas Targets Conroe for Satellite Campus

The University of St. Thomas, a Catholic university based in Houston, wants to move its classrooms north, to Conroe, TX. To that end, the private institution is working to acquire Conroe’s former city hall building at 700 Old Montgomery Rd.

The closing date on this acquisition is unknown. However, Richard Ludwick with St. Thomas told Community Impact that the school will consider admitting 200 students, beginning in August 2020.

The university is planning to offer medical certifications in Conroe, to meet a growing need for primary care physicians in rural areas. St. Thomas is also considering offering nursing and science degrees, as well as a master’s degree in business.
