St. Louis’ Historic Chase Park Plaza Hotel Sold for $88M

Newton, MA-based Hospitality Properties Trust acquired Chase Park Plaza Hotel in St. Louis from Behringer Harvard Opportunity REIT I for $87.8 million. The property will be operated by Sonesta International Hotels Corp., and be rebranded as the Chase Park Plaza Royal Sonesta Hotel.

Overlooking Forest Park in the Central West End of St. Louis, the hotel has been the preferred address for travelers seeking luxury accommodations for more than 90 years. The classic hotel has also been the prime venue for innumerable social events over the decades, and is permanently woven into the history of the St. Louis community.

The property offers 338 oversized guest rooms and suites, as well as 51 furnished executive apartments, complemented by food and beverage outlets, and retail and commercial space.

Cushman & Wakefield Global Hospitality Group’s Tom McConnell and Jared Kelso handled the transaction on behalf of the seller.
