St. David’s ID’s Austin Land for $300M Hospital

St. David’s HealthCare has selected a location at the corner of Farm to Market Road and Marketplace Avenue for its Kyle hospital. It’s part of the groups plan announced last year to spend $1 billion on expanding in the Austin metro area. The Austin Business Journal reports St. David’s will build a $300 million, seven-story hospital. It will be connected to the city’s future Vybe Trail and connect to retail and housing options.

Details call for a 160,000-square-foot acute care hospital with comprehensive care, including a 24-hour emergency department, inpatient and outpatient surgery, critical care capabilities, robotic services and maternity and newborn services. It’s expected to create about 200 full-time jobs.

The 65-acre tract has an appraised valued of about $12.7 million and is owned by San Antonio-based Sheldon-Tanglewood Ltd.
