Sprouts Grows in Glendora

Champion Real Estate Co. commenced construction on a new Sprouts Farmers Market, located at 655 S. Grand Ave. in Glendora, CA. The grand opening of the 30,000-square-foot anchor store is scheduled next month.

The Los Angeles developer acquired the freestanding and vacant former grocery store in 2016, and is investing $32 million in the reconfiguration and repositioning effort. The existing 85,615-square-foot property is being downsized into a smaller 70,500-square-foot grocery-anchored neighborhood shopping center.

Two new retail pads will be carved out of the existing parking field, and additional supporting retail will expand the tenant base. Completion is planned for July 2017.

Champion’s Chris Wilson says, “Our goal is to create a premier center that meets the needs of the area’s evolving demographic.”
