Sprouts Adds Trio of IE Stores

Phoenix-based Sprouts Farmers Market is adding four stores in SoCal, including three in the Inland Empire markets of Rancho Cucamonga, Glendora, and La Verne. A fourth store is opening in Ventura. The 2017 expansion is expected to generate upwards of 400 new jobs for the region.

Hiring is underway for stores set to open May 3 in Rancho Cucamonga and May 24 in Glendora. Hiring is complete for the La Verne location, which is scheduled to open on March 22.

The grocery chain delivered an industry leading 15% sales growth in 2016, and generated positive same-store sales of 2.7% in a year significantly impacted by deflationary pressures. Sprout’s strategy is built around a carefully curated mix of food and a reputation for offering fresh produce, similar to what one would find at a farmer’s market.
