Splunk Stays Put at Kilroy’s SoMa Portfolio
Los Angeles-based Kilroy Realty Corporation signed a 12-year lease with a Splunk Inc. for 100,850 square feet of office space at 250 Brannan St. in San Francisco’s SoMa district. The software company’s prior lease was scheduled to expire in 2019.
Acquired by Kilroy in 2011, the asset is a three-story, historic brick and timber building located near AT&T Stadium, the soon-to-be expanded Muni Metro T Third Line, as well as some of the City’s most renowned restaurants, shops and cultural institutions.
“There is huge demand placed on premium quality creative space by San Francisco’s technology tenants,” said Newmark Cornish & Carey’s Mike Brown, who represented Kilroy at 250 Brannan. “Kilroy’s Brannan Street portfolio represents the best the market has to offer, as evidenced by this recent leasing activity.”
Kilroy has claimed two other big San Francisco office leases this year, including GM Cruise (375,000 square feet) and Nektar Therapeutics (136,000 square feet).
