Spirit Airlines Dania Beach HQ Sells at Auction for $93.25M
Spirit Airlines’ shuttered headquarters building in Dania Beach was acquired at auction for $93.25 million. A Hill City Capital affiliate was the buyer of the office campus, totaling over 600,000 square feet. The facility was delivered just two years ago.
The campus covered more than 11 acres and comprised four buildings, including corporate offices, an amenity building, a crew-training facility with flight simulators and corporate housing.
The low-cost carrier shut down abruptly on May 2 after a last-minute bailout from the federal government failed to materialize. About 17,000 employees lost their jobs. With the airline no longer operating, its bankruptcy estate began monetizing its remaining assets. That includes aircraft, equipment, airport-related assets and real estate.
Hill City Capital is a Boston-based investment firm and hedge fund founded in 2020. It manages roughly $4.9 billion in discretionary assets focusing on concentrated, long-biased equity strategies within sectors like industrials, transportation, and business services
