Spartan Investment Group Acquires 515-Unit Macon Self-Storage

Colorado-based Spartan Investment Group, a real estate investment firm specializing in self-storage, has acquired Max Storage in Macon, GA.

The property will transition to FreeUp Storage Macon Dove Street under Spartan’s 66-property national banner. This 515-unit storage facility includes 10 buildings totaling 66,705 net rentable square feet, one-third of which are climate controlled.

The facility also has a warehouse totaling 13,800 square feet, which Spartan plans to lease. This is the 15th self-storage facility under the FreeUp brand in Georgia.

“We’re always looking for value-add investment opportunities that are complementary to Spartan’s existing portfolio of properties,” said Ryan Gibson, Chief Investment Officer at Spartan Investment Group. “FreeUp Storage has a strong presence in Georgia, with three other facilities in the Macon market. Now, with the addition of this facility, we have the opportunity to expand our footprint and continue meeting the area’s pent-up demand for storage.”
