SpaceX Planning $100M Brownsville Facility
SpaceX plans to build a $100 million office and industrial factory that could fit 15 football fields.
The “SpaceX Starbase Office” project will be located in Brownsville. The location is at the SpaceX launch facility on Boca Chica Beach.
The scope of work includes five levels of office mezzanine, in addition to an approximately 1-million-square-foot “special use industrial factory.”
SpaceX also plans to open a $15 million shopping center and restaurant in Brownsville.
The first is an $8.9 million project titled “RioWest”, including a grocery store, retail shops and a cafe.
The second project, also titled RioWest, is for a restaurant with 3500 square feet of indoor dining space. The $6.1 million project will also include an outdoor deck overlooking the Rio Grande. The start date for both projects is March 14, with a completion date listed as Dec. 31.
