Southwood Realty Snags South Carolina Apartment Community for $26M

Southwood Realty has acquired 34 Crestmont Apartments, a 250-unit apartment community in Columbia, S.C. The sales price was $25.5 million. Drew Babcock of Marcus & Millichap brokered the transaction between Southwood Realty and the Charleston-based seller.

Built in 2003, the 234,656-square-foot apartment community is situated on more than 11 acres. The property is located in Columbia’s Harbison community, which has two lakes, 200 acres of woods and 11 miles of pathways that connect the neighborhoods with shopping areas.

“34 Crestmont is located just 10 minutes outside of downtown Columbia in the Harbison area,” said Babcock. “Properties in this part of the city perform well due to the demand to be near shopping, dining, and recreational areas. “With a history of low vacancy, the property was 95% occupied at the time of the sale.”
