Southwest Will Make O’Hare Debut with 20 Flights

Southwest Airlines Co. will initially fly 20 daily flights out of Chicago O’Hare International Airport beginning in February 2021, the airline announced Wednesday. The new service is intended to complement Southwest’s existing operations at the South Side’s Midway International airport, where it’s the largest carrier.

The initial itinerary for service out of O’Hare calls for four flights daily between O’Hare and Nashville, four between O’Hare and Baltimore, six between O’Hare and Denver, four to Love Field in Dallas and two to Phoenix. Southwest also announced new service from Colorado Springs on Wednesday.

“These additional investments in Chicago and Colorado provide even more convenience for our current customers while also making it more convenient for new travelers to choose Southwest as we begin service from their preferred airport,” said Andrew Watterson, the airline’s chief commercial officer and EVP.
