Southlake Developers Kickstart Long-Awaited Project
After a number of starts and stops, Southlake’s Carillon Parc is starting to show some life. The developers of the project, okayed by the Southlake City Council in 2008, just finished the first road. First approved for 285 acres, the European-style mixed-use development has been pared back to 42 acres.
Developer John Terrell and Westlake-based Carillon Crown are offering up restaurants, shopping, a hotel, residences and office spaces centered around a park area.
Community Impact reports that the estimated cost of the project is more than $400 million. Some specifics of the project are:
- 26.7 acres of public parkland
- 15.8 acres of retail/housing
- 79 houses
- 1,200 projected jobs
- 50 condos
- 565,600 square feet of retail/office space
The expected timetable for the project is:
- 2024: Phase I starts with housing, restaurants, streets, infrastructure installed
- 2024-25: Retail construction to start with Phase II
- 2027: Hotel, office building construction to start with Phase III
