Brentwood, TN-based GBT Realty Corporation has hired two real estate professionals to bolster its diversified development team:

• Wendy Welch Souris as VP of diversified development
• Kristen Heggie as development manager of diversified development

GBT’s diversified development division focuses on environments that blend multifamily, hospitality, office, retail and medical assets in high-growth urban and suburban markets primarily in the Southeast.

Souris joins GBT Realty from Brookfield Properties, where she spent the last six years focused on the implementation of mixed-use developments, most recently Fifth + Broadway in downtown Nashville. Souris began in Nashville launching the Gulch with the delivery of the Terrazzo building in 2009 for Crosland. She then worked for the Atlanta office of JLL focusing on Nashville retail properties.

Heggie has been in the real estate industry in Nashville for nearly 15 years. She has experience as an owner’s representative, developer and construction manager for organizations such as Skanska, Brookfield Properties, DPR Construction and the Nashville Convention Center Authority.
